The Peebles Homecoming Walk which took place last weekend (Sunday 24 May) was a fantastic success with over 220 people taking part and raising nearly £2000 for the Peebles Beltane Festival. 

Kate Pearson, Scottish Borders Homecoming Scotland 2009 Coordinator, said:

"The Peebles Homecoming Walk is a fantastic addition to the Return to the Ridings programme and proved an incredible success in attracting over 220 participants. The Peebles Beltane Festival has really got into the Homecoming spirit and this sort of event demonstrates how local communities can make the most of Return to the Ridings for the benefit of their town.

"If the walk does develop into an annual event it would not only be a great event for the town but would also leave a lasting Homecoming Scotland legacy in Peebles."
